Artur de AzevedoArtur Azevedo was a Brazilian playwright, poet, critic, and journalist born in 1855, in São Luís do Maranhão. Along with his brother, the writer Aluísio Azevedo, he was one of the founders of the Brazilian Academy of Letters.
